Angel Reese Wrote “Baltimore” on the Box Score!
Angel reese Said “We Ballin’ Today.”
If someone tuned in expecting the mighty Minnesota 18–3 Lynx to casually hand Chicago another moral victory, on this WNBA Saturday then joke’s on you.
The Sky went full “F*** it, we ball” mode.
Chicago happened to scored 57 points in the first half, which is both a Chicago season high and a certified hate crime against Minnesota’s defense. Meanwhile, Ariel Atkins was cooking and dropped 27 like she left the oven on.
Angel Reese turned Wintrust into the Eastside Baltimore blacktop.
Kamilla Cardoso straight up ate the Lynx frontcourt alive and washed it down with 15 rebounds.
“We just balled… it was just fun,” Angel Reese said.
Translation: “We beat them like they owed us rent.”
Chicago’s Sky Balled OUt!
Today, Ariel Atkins didn’t play basketball. She administered divine punishment.
Atkins gave Chicago buckets, composure, and the “gas pedal meets face” mentality. The mid-range jumper looked like poetry with brass knuckles. After Minnesota made it a 3-point game with under 3 minutes left? Ariel said, “Let me fix that” and dropped a pull-up jumper like it was a PS5 restock.
“I was just trying to keep my foot on the gas,” Atkins said… ” I feel like our defense fueled our offense.”
The gas pedal didn’t survive because that offense looked like it was chugging Red Bull and resentment.
Big Mil Was Out There Playing Jumanji
Kamilla “Big Mil Not the Little One” Cardoso posted up like God dropped her into the paint just to ruin Cheryl Reeve’s night, and she did exactly that.
17 points. 15 rebounds. 6 offensive boards. One trauma-inducing presence. Angel Reese broke it down perfectly:
“Big Mil not the little one. Big 6’7. S**t you can’t teach that.”
No lies detected. You either born with that paint presence or you shopping in the toddler aisle.
“people didn’t think we were the best young core in the league and we stood on that…She’s always smiling. It’s always great to have her” said Reese.
Right now, they are the best young core in the league, and then took it to a No. 1 team in the league and proved it. Meanwhile, opposing frontcourts disagree on Reese’s sentiments on “it’s always great to have her” because Cardoso wrecked the Lynx frontcourt.
Superstar Playing on the blacktop.
Angel Reese took this game personal.
Reese played with that same fire and passion she plays with constnatly but went out calculated against Minnesota. In front of a Wintrust Arena stadium that had everyone in attendance donning the Angel Reese 2K26 cover shirt, Reese balled. In the first quarter alone, Reese scored 11 points and to remind everyone who she is.
Reese called her shot before the game even tipped:
“We’re not going to let the officials get the hands on this game… it’s not on them, it’s on us” said reese.
Most players say these words like a motivational cliche, Angel meant it like a threat.
“The 1st Q I felt like I was at the blacktop…I felt like I was at Baltimore.
Translation: the Lynx brought a knife to a cookout. And Angel was the grill. Additionally, Reese also shouted out her duel with Napheesa Collier too:
“She’s one of the best… I love playing one of the best players… that’s just a player I love to play all the time.”
Respectful. Also sounded like a diss track was loading in the background.
And on her own growth:
“I just trust my work… when I’m efficient, it really helps the team win.”
It also helps when you’re rebounding like your scholarship depends on it.
The Fans Dressed Up, and the Sky Played Like Avengers
The crowd showed up in full costume.
Angel noticed.
And delivered.
“It means everything… those are the little girls I do it for.”
If you wore glitter, cheered like your mom let you stay past curfew, and watched Angel Reese go full anime protagonist, you got your money’s worth.
Rachel Banham hit the coldest lefty floater this side of Manu Ginóbili.
Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride both got cardio in.
The Lynx looked stunned.
Not because they played bad. But because the Sky looked like they saw every preseason doubt and decided to put the receipts in a blender.
